The Goddess of love and beauty has been cast to join the Percy Jackson Disney+ Series

Kate McKinnon has joined the cast of Percy Jackson and the Olympians as a recurring guest character, starring in season 3. The news follows previous casting that confirmed Logan star Dafne Keen would be portraying Artemis, The Goddess of the hunt, in season 3.

McKinnon is best known for her work on SNL (Saturday Night Live) but has also appeared in several movies, including the 2016 Ghostbusters reboot and Greta Gerwig's hugely successful Barbie movie.

The show's first season debuted in 2023, which retold the tale of the first book in Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson series, The Lightning Thief. The first season was well-received, following positive reviews, and staying much more faithful to the books than the previous movie adaptations did.

Season 2 of the show is set to debut on December 10th, continuing the adventure of Percy Jackson by adapting the second book in the series, Sea of Monsters. Whilst the third season, focused on the third book in the series, The Titan's Curse, is currently in production over in Vancouver.
