Finding Frankie Platinum Trophy
Difficulty: 3/10
Fun: 6/10
Online Trophies: None
Time: Around 1- 2 hours

Not every platinum journey needs to be a huge time sink. Sometimes it's refreshing to take a break from the heavy games and treat yourself to some short and simple platinums. Not quite the trophy fodder that is My Name Is Mayo, but a brief game that's an enjoyable time. One that'll help you kill a few hours and reward you with yet another glistening digital trophy. So with all that said, let me introduce you to October's Path to Platinum game, Finding Frankie.
For those unaware, Finding Frankie is a parkour mascot horror game. Your character is invited to participate in a parkour game show, but soon you realise it's a deadly game of survival as Frankie and the other 'friendly' cast members try to murder you. It's a straightforward premise that feels like a blend of Five Nights At Freddy's and Fall Guys. It's a brief, enjoyable enough time that doesn't overstay its welcome.
Run The Campaign, Grabbing Any Missable
Finding Frankie features 15 trophies, including the platinum. There are 4 missable trophies and one that's only obtainable after completing the game. There are 10 collectables you'll need to pick up, which can easily be spotted and grabbed by following a guide (the video guide I used is below). After starting the game, you'll begin the dreaded gameshow, escape the opening slaughter and arrive at the training zone. This will give you a rundown of the controls, and once you complete it, you'll earn the 'Complete the Tutorial' trophy.
After finishing the tutorial, you'll essentially be on one straight shot for the remainder of the story, running, jumping and flipping breakers in allotted times. The controls can feel a little finicky, causing you to miss grab points, but you do eventually adjust to them. Early on, you'll see a statue of Frankie on his side, press square to boop his nose, and you'll earn the 'Boop' trophy. In this same area, you'll find a vintage Frankie toy, which will also earn you the 'A Relic' trophy.
Hop Back In For One Final Trophy
The game has a few varied locations, such as Hotline Henry's maze, a water park and a Fall Guys-esque mountain climb finale, before you reach a 2-minute survival battle in Hexa-havoc (hexagon levels that disappear after you stand on them). This was probably the trickiest part of the game, but after a few tries, you should be able to conquer the challenge. For me, skirting the edges and taking my time manoeuvring the remaining tiles on each level proved the best strategy. Sometimes you'll need to run to avoid Frankie, but other times he'll be off jumping, so you can take your time and make the most of walking on the tiles.
After you beat Frankie in the Hexa-Havoc finale, you'll enter one final area with central stairs leading up to your prize. Make sure you avoid this and go around the side to pick up the final Frankie toy and earn the 'Everything Will Change' trophy. After grabbing that, you can go ahead and complete the game.
At this point, the only trophy remaining should be 'Easter Eggs!' To get this trophy, click on play and head back into the Frosted Peak challenge area. Just to the left of the climb challenge, you'll see some stairs that you'll need to climb instead to reach a now-opened office. Head inside and grab the special key to unlock a door in the check-in area back at the lobby. It's best to follow the guide for this, as manoeuvring around previous locations isn't something you'll likely remember or be aided by a map. Open the door, follow the pathway to reach the secret area, and you'll earn the final trophy, alongside Finding Frankie's Platinum trophy.

Finding Frankie was a nice break from the sloggier games I'm working on. It's a simple enough time when working alongside a collectable guide to ensure nothing is missed. The gameplay is decent enough, with a basic plot to keep the action moving as required. I did find a few horror moments worked really well, and the times you're hauling ass away from the killer robots are tense and fun. Other than that, a lot of the gameplay boils down to jumping around areas and flipping breakers. It's fun for its brief trophy hunting time, and it can easily be accomplished in a sitting or two if you have the time. It's definitely one of the better mascot horror games out there, and for a simple1-2 hour platinum, it's hard to go wrong.
