The Ratchet & Clank Quest

Ratchet & Clank celebrated their 23rd birthday in November 2025. So I'm going to replay all of their adventures in time for the 24th.

It's Christmas 2002. You run downstairs to open your presents and find your parents have brought you a PlayStation 2, bundled with a copy of Insomniac's Ratchet & Clank. You quickly hook up the console, insert the disc and feel yourself whisked away into an amazing space adventure. At least, that was my first experience with Ratchet & Clank.

Fast forward 23 years, and Ratchet & Clank are still going strong with over 14 games spanning multiple PlayStation consoles. Their latest adventure, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, was released less than a year after the PlayStation 5 became available, and four years on, it's still considered by many to be one of the best games on the console.

Bringing it back to Christmas 2002, the PlayStation 2 was my first Home Console, and Ratchet & Clank pulled me into its fantastic world with fun level design, great weaponry and some stellar heroes. Although it also gave me my first moment of gaming rage as Pokitaru briefly destroyed my young gaming soul. Still, the series has been a core part of my gaming journey, and I've looked forward to each new adventure the duo embarks on.

To celebrate Ratchet & Clank's 23rd birthday, I've set myself the goal to play through all 14 Ratchet & Clank games before their next birthday celebration. That means I'll venture through all mainline games, shorter quests and even the PSP ports that are now available on PlayStation Plus.
