Before the Switch 2 launched, Switch users were used to having ports of beloved games from the previous generation, whilst PC and Next-Gen console users were exploring Ancient Greece in Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Nintendo gamers were having to settle for ports of Black Flag/Assassin's Creed 3. Despite being great games, they were still behind the modern curve.
With the introduction of the Switch 2, that seems to have changed, with Cyberpunk 2077 and Star Wars: Outlaws receiving favourable ports to the latest console. The latest Nintendo console feels capable of handling the bigger, more modern adventures, as the latest Assassin's Creed adventure, Assassin's Creed: Shadows, joins the console's library in the same year it debuted.
Due for release on December 2nd, Assassin's Creed: Shadows will launch with all recent updates and content drops the game has received. The first expansion, Claws of Awaji, will also be coming to the console; however, it won't be available until 2026.
Assassin's Creed: Shadows will also have cross-progression through Ubisoft Connect, allowing players to pick up and continue their adventure across multiple consoles. The Switch 2 version also comes with new touch screen features that can be utilised across all menus, including the hideout, store and world map.
