Xbox exclusives have steadily been making their way onto PlayStation consoles since 2024, starting with titles like Tango Gamework's highly acclaimed Hi-Fi Rush, then moving on to the consoles' heavy hitters with Forza and Gears of War. However, it seems the biggest Xbox Sci-Fi shooter is also on its way, with Halo: Campaign Evolved hitting PlayStation 5, Xbox and PC next year.

Halo: Campaign Evolved is a modernised version of the first Halo game, Halo: Combat Evolved. The new version isn't a simple remaster; it's a complete rebuild of the game from the ground up. Halo: Campaign Evolved will feature high-definition visuals, all-new cinematics, a remastered soundtrack, and enhanced gameplay thanks to smoother controls and movement, making it the best version of the game to date.

Halo: Campaign Evolved will allow players to battle through the original Halo: Combat Evolved campaign alongside new prequel missions that follow Master Chief and Sgt. Johnson, complete with new characters, enemies and environments to experience.

The game is also fully playable in co-op, with 2-player split-screen and 4-player online co-op that's crossplay-enabled. Likely, making it a favourite for friend groups and couples to hop on the couch and relive the glory days, as many did back in 2001.

Currently, there's no confirmed launch date for the game outside of 2026, but Halo: Campaign Evolved will launch simultaneously on PlayStation 5, Xbox and PC, with the game being accessible to play day one for Game Pass owners.

Are you excited to see Halo join the PlayStation catalogue? Have you played a Halo game previously, and if so, what are your thoughts on Halo: Campaign Evolved so far?
