Rockstar delays GTA IV again.

Initially set to release on May 26th, Rockstar has decided that the sequel needs additional development time before it's ready to ship and has delayed the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto sequel until November 19th 2026. The delay means players will have to wait a further six months before getting their hands on the game, which will likely disappoint fans. Especially given that the last mainline GTA game was released 12 years ago, with Grand Theft Auto V on the PlayStation 3/Xbox 360.

Given the scope of the new title, it's no surprise delays have happened. I'm disappointed about the delay, but I'm certainly happy for the studio to take its time and iron out what it needs to before launch. After all, I'd rather wait a few extra months for the game to release in a great state instead of the unfortunate states Assassin's Creed Unity and Cyberpunk 2077 experienced when they hit the shelves. The story of Jason and Lucia in a modern Vice City will have to wait till winter 2026, but hopefully the final version lives up to the hype. Until then, we'll have to dive back into GTA V.
